Liveo Research launches new recyclable one-material blisters

4 November 2025

Swiss pharmaceutical packaging specialist Liveo Research AG has introduced two new blister concepts at the CPHI Frankfurt trade fair. These innovations are part of the One-Material Blisters (OMB™) range, where both top and bottom films are made from a single material. This design facilitates recycling within existing waste management systems and allows the materials to be converted into new valuable resources at the end of their life cycle.

The first concept, marketed as BlisForm MP / BlisLid MP, provides medium protection against water vapour. The second, BlisBa PCP / BlisLid PCP, offers medium to high protection and is available in multiple thicknesses. These new products complement the existing BlisForm MA / BlisLid MA OMB™ solution, already successfully adopted by several pharmaceutical companies for drugs requiring low or no water vapour protection.

All three blister concepts are highly processable on various blister machines. They can generally be used without any adjustments, making them true “drop-in solutions.”

Dr Carsten Heldmann, CEO of Liveo Research AG, comments: “We are very proud to now be adding two further new OMB™ concepts, developed and produced in-house, to our tried-and-tested single-material PET blister. This once again demonstrates our pioneering role in the field of sustainable blister concepts. Greater sustainability in blister packaging is already possible today – Liveo Research is the innovative and experienced partner for this.”

With these new offerings, Liveo Research continues to strengthen its position as a leader in sustainable pharmaceutical packaging, providing solutions that combine performance, ease of use, and environmental responsibility.
