Schreiner MediPharm will present a new multifunctional label for pens and autoinjectors at CPHI Milan 2026, combining product authentication, tamper evidence and digital features in a single solution.
Developed in response to growing demand for GLP-1 therapies, the label addresses increasing concerns around counterfeiting while also supporting the safety and usability of injection devices. The company says the solution is designed to provide protection for the product, brand and patient throughout the supply chain.
The label integrates several levels of authentication, including visible security effects, microtext and infrared features, alongside smartphone-readable codes and optional NFC technology. Digital functions can also support tracking and the identification of potential counterfeiting or grey-market activity.
A first-opening indication provides an additional security layer. As the label covers part of the pen cap, any attempt to open the device leaves visible, irreversible evidence. With the NFC option, first-opening information can also be accessed digitally via a smartphone.

Beyond security, the extended label format provides additional space for product information and larger typography, while NFC technology can enable digital services and user support. Schreiner MediPharm says the solution can be adapted to customer requirements and integrated into existing high-speed labelling processes.
The new label will be showcased at CPHI Milan from October 6–8 at Schreiner MediPharm’s booth, 11F61, as the pharmaceutical industry continues to look for ways to combine greater security with increasingly connected and user-focused drug delivery systems.
